Our Mission

Building the total child

The values that shape daily life at Royal Kids International School, founded in January 2007 in Port Harcourt, River State.

What we stand for

A total child, inside and outside the classroom

Our mission goes beyond lesson plans. It is about the whole learner — academic ability, character and a sense of belonging — supported by a blend of the British National Curriculum and the Nigerian Curriculum.

Our academic calendar organises the school year into clear terms and breaks, giving pupils, parents and teachers a shared sense of rhythm and expectation. Lessons, assessments, activities and holidays are mapped out in advance so that families can plan travel, study time and rest confidently. Because the calendar is published openly, everyone knows what lies ahead and can prepare rather than react.

The curriculum at Royal Kids International School blends the British National Curriculum with the Nigerian Curriculum, so pupils gain strong core knowledge in subjects such as English, mathematics, science, music and PSHE while remaining grounded in local context. Lessons are structured and sequenced carefully, with high-quality teaching materials tailored to each class. The aim is always the total child, equipped with confidence, curiosity and independence.

Beyond timetabled lessons, the calendar makes room for participation in programmes, activities and opportunities that build character and responsibility. Participation in group work, sports, arts and clubs helps children develop social skills, discipline and a sense of belonging. These moments are placed deliberately within the term structure, ensuring that enrichment is part of the normal school year rather than an occasional extra.

Regular communication with parents is supported by the same structure: calendars, updates and shared expectations keep home and school aligned. When families can see the shape of the year, they engage more fully with the mission of forging a child's future. Enquiries about admissions, registration and class placement are welcomed throughout, and the portal keeps progress, visibility and engagement easy for everyone involved.

Building a total child

We work on every part of a child’s development — academic, social and emotional — rather than concentrating on test scores alone.

High academic prowess

Rigorous teaching and steady practice are central to our approach, so learners build strong, transferable academic skills.

Strong character

Confidence, discipline and respect for others are nurtured deliberately, alongside a crusade against antisocial behaviour.
